My Anniversary!

So I have 9 days until my anniversary - 10/20!! I can't believe a year has passed so quickly! Last year at this time I was getting super antsy. " Just get it over, already" was all I was thinking. One of the girls I worked with had just gotten on the team (at work) and she told me all the stuff to expect. She wasn't a newlywed, but only been married about 3 years. She and her husband also went on a cruise for the honeymoon and she was like, "You're not going to sleep until you get on the boat!" When we got back I told her how right she was.

One thing that I wish I could do this year was go on another cruise. God, that was so much fun!! Since I've been to the Western Caribbean, now I want to go to the Eastern Caribbean. I think all those cruises leave out of Florida, though. Maybe me and Aloe-Ha can plan a vacation on one! Haha... though, we always make plans like, "Next year, we are SO going to Canada!" Or "Next summer, we are so going to Europe!" And, it has yet to happen. Slackers is what we are.

Well let's see what's happened this past year (that I can remember are some "milestones"):
  • We both started school up again. I'm in grad school and Scott's finishing up his BFA.

  • Scott bought a new car.

  • Scott's step-dad passed away.

  • Scott turned 31, I turned 29.

  • We bought a house, even in this crappy ass economy.

  • I sold my Firebird... :( :( :(

  • We sold the truck.

  • And I keep packing on pounds and he's the same weight. No fair! :P

Ok, so the weight thing isn't a "milestone" but I need to seriously do something about it. I really hate the way I look these days. Someone help hold me accountable! I don't want to be a chubs at Christmas.

Well for reminiscing purposes, here is the Shutterfly album I put up of our honeymoon photos.

Well, that's about it. Have a great Saturday!

Wedding Planner, Mr. Greg Reese.

So, when I got engaged I told my parents I really just wanted a JP ceremony and any money they wanted to spend or give to me, I wanted to use for a honeymoon in Tahiti! I wanted the private bungalo and time on the beach. Well, my parents just wouldn't hear of it.

I got engaged in February, so, I was already very busy working from 7:30AM to 4:30PM and then in class from 6:00PM - 9:00PM for a HR Generalist Certification. I loafed around for about a month after we got engaged (ok, I was really just still in shock) and then when I finally sat down to plan, I couldn't. I felt like a horrible bride because I HATE the thought of event planning, and attempting to do so just annoyed me. I finally told my Dad that weddings take 2 things that I don't have: Time and Money.

He immediately said the expenses would be covered by him. Afterall, I am his only daughter and I'm only getting married once! Well, a short time later, he told me to hire a wedding coordinator to help with the planning. I was excited! Though, pretty intimated to talk to any of them, because I was under the impression that wedding coordinators were only for the super rich. I contacted at least 10 coordinators in the San Antonio area. One was a super snot to me because I didn't have a $50K budget. Other people just responded back by saying "congrats" and sent the crap that I already saw on their websites. I wasn't impressed by any means.

Feeling at a loss, I'm scouring theknot.com and I came across "Wedding Coordinator Suggestions" on the San Antonio board. I happened to see a girl endorse Greg Reese. I immediatly contacted him and he responded lightning fast, and even called to set up an appointment. He was so kind and told me he will work with *any* budget, large or small by saying, "We all have budgets that we live in. My job is to help you stick to your budget." He was just awesome and made me feel at ease; needless to say, our decision to go with him was an easy one!

Greg immediately got to work. Within a week, we had a venue for our wedding. Shortly thereafter, we booked a photographer. (I'll post more on those later.) It pays to have someone who has vendor hook-ups.

I'm so excited we found him. He will definitely make our day very special. Thank you, Greg Reese!

First Blog

Just felt like creating one of these.. no real specific reason. I have a LJ, MySpace, and Twitter... how I'm going to keep up with this, I'm not sure. So guess I'm joining like the 687513846554843 who have one of these.

Thinking of doing wedding updates on this, with general updates for family since I never made an "official" site for the wedding. We'll see. Going to play around with this thing for awhile. Seems pretty neat/versatile.

:)
